Call 2 Fall

REPENT! REPENT! Can you hear the voice of one calling in the dessert?

"Make straight the path of the Lord!"

"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."

Yes, I know. You can do without the yelling. Might I suggest that you have not done well without the yelling? Might I suggest our nation is far from God, and far from repentance? It is time to fall; time to fall on our knees and humble ourselves. Time to turn from our wicked ways that He might heal our land.

"What a wretched man am I! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God-through Jesus Christ!"

Those are the words of Paul from Romans 7:24. Seven days a week; twenty-four hours a day. What a wretched man am I. Who will rescue me from this body of death? Repentance, humility, turning from the ways of man to the ways of God: these should be daily acts of a nation that knows The Almighty. This character should be ingrained into the Christian way of life, but we have lived without it, emphasizing His Grace over His Righteousness, and His mercy over our need to change.

Now is the time. Join with me this coming Sunday, July 5th, 2009. It's the Call 2 Fall: visit http://www.call2fall.com/ for more information. Listen to the Political Hope Radio Show life on FM Radio or via internet as we help lead America to repentance. http://www.politicalhope.com/

REPENT! Turn from your sin you double minded!

Did you know?

* Of 32,000 verses in the Bible, only five directly mention homosexuality.
* The Qur'an only directly mentions homosexuality once.
* Leviticus, the book of the Bible which stipulates death for homosexuality,
requires the same punishment for adultery, pre-marital sex, disobedient children
and blasphemy. Pastor, do you preach the death penalty for adultery, pre-marital sex, and disobedient children? If not, why not?
* The Biblical Jesus does not condemn homosexuality.
* The destruction of the Biblical city of Sodom was due to their mistreatment of
strangers.
* The Bible never condemns same sex marriage.
* The Biblical David and Jonathan had a formal same-sex union.
* 'Traditional marriage' in the Bible includes polygamy.
* No known sacred text forbids same sex marriage.
* Very few sacred texts even mention homosexuality.
* Hindu and other far eastern sacred texts do not condemn homosexuality.
* Homosexuality is not unnatural, it is practised by hundreds of species of
animals.

When praying this Sunday at your Call2Fall event, perhaps we need to ask God’s forgiveness for elevating homosexual sin above adultery, divorce, pre-marital sex, and blasphemy, and hypocrisy.

Robert,

Thank you for your comments.

I agree with your conclusion. The church in American needs to focus on its sin, which has much to do with failures in marriage and adultery (sexual and spiritual).

I find some of your points to be inaccurate or incomplete.

First, I do not personally know one Christian (pastor or lay person) that promotes death as the penalty for the sins mentioned in Leviticus. We understand that the penal code of the OT was for the Israeli Theocracy of the day, and we do not apply it to homosexuals, adulterers, or disobedient children.

Second, an argument from absense is no argument at all. The entire NT never condems rape. Would you suggest such silence implies that the NT then condons rape?

The NT & Jesus condemn sexual sin numerous times. The framework for defining sexual sin in the NT is established by the OT.

The Bible repeatedly condemns same sex relations. To suggest same-sex marriage is somehow excluded is illogical.

Third, many of your other assertions are also worthy of a good challenge. I will refrain at this time, and again reiterate, I think your conclusion is correct.

We should repent of elevating homosexual sin above other sins. The Christian church has much sin of its own that needs attention.

Blessings In Christ Alone, and thank you for commenting.
